FATEA REVIEW - FEB 2021- Follow Me Up To Carlow
Follow Me Up From Carlow, the opening track on Ranagri's forthcoming Tradition 2 album, is released as a single on February 8th. This old song tells the story of a famous Irish victory led by Fiach MacHugh O'Byrne at the Battle of Glenmalure in 1580. Whilst the music hails from the 16th Century the words are from the late 19th Century. Rather fitting then that Ranagri (Rathnagrew) take their name from a small area of farmland in Co Carlow just 10 miles from Glenmalure. This is truly inspiring stuff, absolutely fabulous music which brings a breath of fresh air to these continuing difficult times. The album promises to be bostin'. This digital release is available through all on-line platforms. DP
